Welcome to Australian Genre Crossings

Australian Genre Crossings is an academic symposium, which will run alongside Genrecon 2013 at the State Library of Queensland on October 11, 2013. Delegates from all over Australia will present papers about Australian popular fiction. Our aim is to enrich the conversation around popular fiction in Australia. The theme of the conference is ‘crossings’: we want to move past scholarship that describes, defines, or defends Australian popular fiction. Rather, we are interested in how genre texts in Australia engage in adaptation, remediation, transformation, translation, internationalisation, and community. Australian Genre Crossings is supported by AustLit: the Australian Literature Resource, and Genrecon.

If you would like to attend and listen, and join in the conversation over morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea, follow this link.
